What we do:

Aidan & Christine started Aikman Estates in Salmon Arm, British Columbia in order to purchase small apartment buildings & enable us to provide good quality accommodation at a reasonable price. We purchased a building located on 4th Ave SE during the summer of 2011 & plan to purchase further buildings during 2012.

What makes our apartments different to others is that we provide quality accommodation as we are a longterm landlord. This means that the renovations are done to stand the test of time, with quality materials and workmanship apparent. Our family has been a landlord in the commercial, apartment, residential & farm leasing business for over a century & have had the same tenants for many years in some instances.

How we do it:

We act as owner / developer which means that we oversee the renovation work on a day to day basis, selecting the materials that ensure the renovations last for many years. Where necessary a building permit is obtained and the work inspected by the City of Salmon Arm to ensure building code compliance.

The subcontractors that we employ must have a proven tract record of doing quality work. As we supply the material we are able to keep costs under tight control which ensures a higher quality finish.

What this means for a tenant:

Perspective tenants can look forward to an apartment unit that is modern & well maintained inside & out. This enables you to enjoy a quiet tenancy. During the winter we have a local company for snow removal. Tenants have my phone number or can e-mail me so that concerns can be quickly resolved.
